Anuário Estatístico Statistical Yearbook | SINDICEL 2026 8 Word from the It is with great honor and a deep sense of responsibility that I share, through the pages of the 2026 Sindicel Statistical Yearbook, an overview of my first year as President of Sindicel. Leading this organization for the 2025–2028 term has meant embracing a legacy built over decades while taking on the responsibility of guiding it with the same commitment, integrity, and dedication to the sector we represent. The sector showed consistent signs of recovery in 2025, with growth in the apparent consumption of copper electrical conductors and increased production of semifinished products and optical fibers – results presented throughout this Yearbook. Against this backdrop of recovery, we remain committed to further strengthening the competitiveness, quality, and integrity of our industry. Upon assuming this leadership role, we established a clear direction: to preserve the achievements that have made Sindicel a benchmark for quality and safety while advancing new initiatives to meet the demands of a market increasingly focused on product origin, traceability, and accountability across the entire supply chain. This first year was dedicated to turning that vision into concrete action. Two initiatives embody this commitment and deserve special mention. The first is the Raw Material Traceability Project, designed to provide transparency regarding the origin and journey of the inputs that supply our industry. By enabling the identification of raw material sources and tracking their journey throughout the supply chain, the project strengthens market confidence, reinforces the credibility of companies committed to responsible practices, and complements Sindicel’s longstanding efforts to combat informality and unfair competition. The second is the Due Diligence Program, developed for Sindicel members to strengthen corporate governance, integrity, and compliance. The program serves as a cornerstone for mitigating risks, reinforcing best practices, and safeguarding the reputation of member companies, while aligning the sector with leading national and international standards. I extend my sincere gratitude to the Sindicel Board of Directors and staff for their dedication and collaborative spirit, and especially to our member companies. It is through the strength of your organizations and the relevance of the sector we represent that Sindicel is able to act with resolve, responsibility, and effective advocacy. I also express my appreciation to our institutional partners, industry associations, and public agencies – especially INMETRO and Qualifio – for their collaboration and shared commitment, which enable us to address challenges and achieve meaningful progress. As I conclude this first year, I am confident that we are on the right path and convinced that the years ahead will bring even greater achievements. Sindicel will remain steadfast in its commitment to represent, defend, and advance the sector, guided by transparency, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to legal compliance.
