10 Anuário Brasileiro do Setor de Locação de Veículos Brazilian Vehicle Rental Sector Yearbook 2023 Vehicle leasing and rental is more active than ever In demand during the pandemic, with proprietary fleets run by small and medium-sized enterprises and most application drivers, vehicle leasing and rental is rapidly transforming and evolving like never before. This edition of our Yearbook, with updated statistics, accurately reflects how important our business has become in the mobility scenario. In the market, there are modern forms of sharing being put into practice and a diversity of transport-related applications. There is also demand for leasing and renting heavy vehicles (buses and trucks), motorcycles, and personalized services - from by companies, public agencies, and private individuals - who have helped develop car leasing. Closely monitoring this diversification has become essential, especially in the face of changes in the way people think about leasing and renting vehicles. The shortages of product and rising costs of new vehicles, in addition to the very expensive credit, are factors that can no longer be left ignored in strategic planning for small, medium, and large leasing and rental companies. Our activity has been forced to absorb the impact of poorly maintained roads, which adds to fleet maintenance costs – and has made an effort to ensure safety and limit the exposure to risk faced by vehicles. Even so, as a rule, the companies in our sector have been able to stay competitive, while renewing, expanding, and diversifying their fleets. To continue the expansion of the business, the sector must invest in training, rethinking forms of management, speed of service, convenience, and differentials to be added. In other words, if, on the one hand the statistics published here are encouraging, on the other they also show that we cannot settle. This new Yearbook once again proves that we are still the main buyers from automakers and that we play a prominent role in the enormous economic movement generated by the automotive industry. However, we want to go further. Our sector is efficient and effective and will power ahead. Marco Aurélio Nazaré President of the National Council at ABLA ABLA
