Esse o objetivo do nosso Congresso e dos canais de comunicação que mantemos aciona- dos”, diz Ilídio dos Santos. O estreito relacionamento dos associados Fe- nauto com o setor de locação de veículos é nova- mente ressaltado por Santos. O debate sobre mo- bilidade e as alternativas pensadas são vistas com bons olhos pelo dirigente, que faz questão de acen- tuar o protagonismo do automóvel. “Sabemos que a cada dia novas ideias surgem como alternativas de mobilidade, mas sempre ressaltamos que mes- mo essas ainda dependem do veículo para se con- cretizarem. Ilídio dos Santos, president of the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Dealers’ Associations (Fenauto), says recovery in new vehicle sales is a positive, as they are an essential part for the growth of the used sector. After eight consecutive years of sales growth, the used vehicle market grew by another 2.2% in 2019 year on year, to 14.5 million units. “This is very encouraging because it shows the strength and resilience of the sector, despite the difficulties in the economy. We are confident that in 2020 this trend of positive results in the sales of used vehicles will continue”, Santos says. Santos adds that at the eighth Fenauto Congress last year, financial agents related the factors that gradually drive the Brazilian economy. “Inflation is under control, unemployment is falling, and, above all, credit is available,” Santos says. Another strong influence on results is professional qualification in the segment. “This is one of the banners for players in the sector, who strive to provide their employees with relevant information and guidance on market trends. This is the goal for our Congress and the communication channels that we operate,” Santos says. The close relationship Fenauto members have with the vehicle rental sector is again highlighted by Santos. The debate about mobility and the alternatives considered are welcomed by the leader, who makes a point of accentuating the leadership shown by cars. “We know that every day new mobility alternatives are considered, but we always say that even these still depend on vehicles.
