It must be stressed from the off that the figures presented here by the company on the vehicle rental market refer only to vehicles whose finance requires a security deposit on the vehicles. The volume of financing presented here is relatively low when compared to the total fleet acquired by rental companies over the years. This is because the largest rental companies are financed to introduce the security in the vehicle: that is, they raise finance through debentures and other means of which do not use their own vehicles as collateral. The National Lien System (SNG) manages the financial constraints included on the vehicles given as collateral in credit operations throughout the country. It was developed as a solution in establishing guarantees in the financial system. The SNG allows banks, financial com- panies, leasing companies and consortium administrators to consult on possible restric- tions on the vehicle offered as collateral be- fore entering into the credit operation. For the inclusion of a lien, the financial institution registers with B3, receives the login and password and, whenever it finances a vehicle or accepts a vehicle as collateral in a loan, it registers it with the SNG, stating the condition - fiduciary alienation or mercantile leasing, for example. Whenever a credit operation is entered into, the financial institution consults the SNG database. The online system states if the vehicle is free of liens, has any legal restrictions, or if it is linked to other financing. At the end of the contract, the institution clears the financial restriction on the SNG database, so that the owner can sell the vehicle or offer it as collateral in another credit agreement.  B3 numbers refer only to vehicles financed by credit requiring security.
