Adapting new concepts capable of risks’ minimizing, improve facilities’ performance and obtain better financial results are important competitive edges in the health sector. Asset management in the hospital sector embraces sustainable practices based on the international ISO 55000 standards, which guide the processes covering the asset specification to its disposal. These practices improve performance and reduce risks in the administration of complex operations, as the ones found in the hospital sector, joining the supervision efforts on critical assets and in the financial-administrative environment. It’s possible to affirm that the better management of the infrastructure assets, the better will be the technical and financial efficiency, further integrating the processes and allowing for more assertive decisions during the operations’ lifetime. But what is the asset management? - Asset management is the process of guiding the acquisition, the use and disposal of assets to obtain the best benefits for their performance, managing the assets-related risks and costs throughout their lifetime.
